Hebrews 10:36
Perseverance is a thought that has weighed heavy on my mind of late. It's something where most of us as believers are at in our walk with God in this day and age. Perseverance is defined as to persist in anything undertaken; to maintain and have a purpose to work toward.
As believers and in one accord with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the final part of this definition is something that we all should strive to do on a daily basis. To maintain namely a solid relationship with the Lord and the purpose of eternal life with Him as our goal. To truly make Him proud of us at the end of each day.
Some things that I would like to touch on in this ministry that will aid us in maintaining the Spirit each day and help us maintain the perseverance in our walk will be briefly touched on now.
Obedience To God In All Things
1 Peter 4:16-17 says "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?"
As Christians we don't get to pick and choose which laws and commandments to keep. As servants of the true God we must obey Him in every thing. 2 John 1:6 says: "And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments" note it doesn't say obey just a few of His commandments and you're good..just the easy ones and pick or choose of the more tougher ones for Sunday..but it says "that we walk according to his commandments" which means any the Lord has given. If it were that easy we would be like the world around us.
As Christians we are to be separate from the world (Romans 12:2)and are not to conform to any worldly patterns because first and foremost we belong to a mighty God who bought us with ransomed blood at a hefty price. (1 Corinthians 6:20)So His will should be first and foremost in our thoughts and in our lives on a daily basis. In fact we are to be faithful in all things.
Deuteronomy 28:1 says: "If YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day," folks there is a promise attached to it as it goes on to say: "The Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth." Then verse 2 says: "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God." Now again we note it says to keep ALL. Not just a token few.

Be Faithful To God In Little Things
I will cite an example let's say you are out shopping and are looking at clothing and initially go to buy a couple pairs of jeans but don't have the money as it turns out to purchase both pairs. Let's say that you get home and find that the salesperson had unintentionally bagged the second pair of jeans. Now you have 2 choices to make..a: do you think cool! Ground score! I get them after all for free! which you know deep down isn't right..as would God be pleased with you for keeping something you did not buy? God has commanded us not to steal so in fact this would be breaking a commandment.(Exodus 20:15) Or b: do you return to the store to make them aware of the mistake? Which is the right thing and Godly thing to do.
Or we'll use this one: There is a concert on the night you are supposed to go to Church..it's the only time the artist will be in your town. Do u a: go to see the show thinking that Church is always there, this is a once in a lifetime show. So you say to yourself what is missing one night of Church yet knowing full well that God has commanded that when we are to at each available opportunity attend Church. (Hebrews 10:25)Or do we do as commanded and attend Church and benefit in a more essential way benefiting us as a Christian? Which would be the better choice in both scenarios? That is something we must test ourselves by in how we would honestly respond if tested.
By keeping His commandments I am sure that if we make the right choices and keep our promise to God to live according to His will that a way will be made for the blessings.
Perhaps another show will turn up in a closer city at another time. Perhaps someone will provide you a pair of jeans better than the one you initially wanted to buy.
There are blessings that come from making the right choices. But most importantly there is a closer walk with God and true spiritual joy that are by-products of keeping His laws and His word in your life. I can truthfully attest to that one.
By keeping our part we maintain the close relationship with our God which makes true perseverance to the end much easier. In the end we will attain the goal of eternal life with Christ. (James 1:12)
All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

To read the ministry series in progression please go to these links:
I Hebrews 10:36 Part 1 focuses on being faithful to God in all things. Utmost importance!
II. Proverbs 4:23 Part 2 is focused on the role your thoughts and heart play into your spiritual walk.
III. Ephesians 6:10-18 Part 3 examines the role spiritual warfare plays in your walk. It identifies various methods of spiritual warfare and how to be freed from the grip of the spiritual bondage.
IV. ! Corinthians 9:24,25 Part 4 focuses on being "spiritually fit" and running the race successfully to reap the reward of eternal salvation. I use my history in running as an illustration.
