God's Assurance Of Peace

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
~Isaiah 26: 3~

When we accept Jesus as our personal Savior..as the adage goes "we were never promised a rose garden". If anything sometimes being a Christian in a world so full of obstacles can be a challenge.

As believers we do encounter challenges in our day to day walk with God. It is our reactions to these challenges that determine if these will tear us down or if they bring us closer to Him. We must first remember, that as believers, we are assured of God's presence in our lives daily. (John 14; Matthew 1:23; Psalm 139:7)

A Presence that brings true peace.

The way of the world and it's burdens can be heavy and cumbersome. Especially the financial struggles or losses we face that lead to anxiety and worry. Or the temptations we encounter in life which become hurdles to overcome.

In worry if we allow ourselves to obsess on any situation it can weaken us spiritually & mentally as well as our faith. This worry becomes fear. Fear itself is not of God. (2 Timothy 1: 7; 1 John 4: 18) Anxiety itself can be addressed in these Scriptures (Luke 12:25-26; Psalm 94:19; Matthew 6:28-34; 1 Peter 5:7)

Through falling prey to temptations we also can lose this peace as well as the loss of His presence in our lives. (Rom.6:11-14)

These above are tools of Satan and he has a rather large arsenal at his disposal.

To further gain an understanding of God's promise of peace let's look at what He says in His Word.

As we search there are assurances from God Himself of peace.

As believers first we must keep in mind that no matter what circumstance or conditions, peace will be there from God:

Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in all ways.
~2 Thessalonians 3: 16~

As believers we must always be confident and certain for God is always with us and we will always have His peace! :

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer. For I have overcome the world.
~John 16: 33~

God can turn TRIals into TRIumphs!

As believers in times of trials be it personal, financial; or in times of change in our live. God has promised us this guarantee. Peace. A peace that transcends all understanding.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 4:6-7~

Myself I can bear testimony of this as I am known as the biggest worry wart. I am teaching myself that when anxieties hit to pray immediately. To focus immediately on God. People have even told me they see the change. That I look at peace. Which is awesome as my walk has not always been an easy one. I have found a lessening of anxiety as I pray and apply my faith. Just as Christ promised in Matthew 11:28-30

"If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light." (Contemporary English Version)

This promise does not mean the burdens will instantly erase. But it does mean that God's strength and peace will get you through them. That He will shoulder them along with you making them lighter to carry. Which will leave a peace and certainty with you.

In closing it's a promise that God's peace is available to all who trust in Him. It is a 24-7 guarantee in a world that often cannot give such guarantees. But then again our God is not of the world and neither is His Peace. (John 18:36)God is faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9) - as long as we trust in Him...we will abide in perfect peace in our lives. (Isaiah 26:3)
