Hello.....my name is GOD!

I remember too well the confusion when I became born again and re-dedicated. Having been in so many faiths and sects I found myself thinking "okay I accept you into my life. So how should I address you?"

In one faith I was taught that His name is Jehovah. Then in another faith I often addressed Him as either Eloheim or Heavenly Father. In the non denomination churches I attended He was Jesus. So, what's a girl to think?

At this point of re-birth I wasn't sure if I should call Him: Jesus, Father; Jehovah, Eloheim...God? As someone who sought a more profound relationship with my God I wanted to be able to address Him directly by name.

After a time of seeking an answer through prayer and Scriptures; the one thing I came to a realization of above anything is that He is GOD.

That whatever circumstance I approach Him He is still just...GOD.

That when I go to address Him I should address Him as reverently as possible.

A God who should be addressed as such: In faith. In pain. In need. In supplication. In reverence. In praise. In revelation. In Spirit In Truth.

He is GOD.

However longing to use a name I do find myself often calling Him Father. As He is after all my Father. I have called Him Jesus as He is after all my Savior, Redeemer and God. John 10:30 denotes both these names as Jesus says: "I and the Father are one.”

I've also used Jehovah Shalom a term of peace and reconciliation. I've used El Shaddai (God Almighty will provide) in moments of praise and worship. As well as the Name Lord Adonai which denotes majesty and which I use in my most reverent moments. Usually when I look at the beauty around me.

But no matter what names are used to address Him..at the end of the day..He is still..God. A God I am glad to say I worship.

"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His ; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations."
